Dr. Elena Yárritu currently offers private lessons in North County San Diego, California. All levels (beginning, intermediate and advanced) are currently being accepted. Dr. Yárritu offers a study in traditional and contemporary methods. Students study standard & contemporary classical flute techniques from the French School as well as extended techniques, solo repertoire, etudes, chamber music, and orchestral literature.

Individual curriculum is determined by an evaluation of the student's experience, ability, and goals. Students are encouraged to discover their potential through consistent training, listening to concerts & recordings as well as to their peers.

Students receive expert guidance for auditions and competitions at both high school and college levels. Advanced adult students may negotiate lesson packages to suit their professional needs and goals. Yarritu's students have been awarded first prizes in many local competitions (Goodlin, Grossmont, MTAC San Diego Concerto Competition, MTAC VOCE, San Diego Flute Guild, Musical Merit Foundation) as well as regional and national competitions (MTAC State VOCE, Young Arts, Spotlight and the National Flute Association High School Soloist Competition).

In addition to lessons, master classes are offered once per month and recitals twice per year. Students may opt to participate in Certificate of Merit offered by the California Music Teacher's Association or the Music Development Program for an added fee. Students are also encouraged to participate in their school music program or another regular performing ensemble.
